Mourinho reportedly looking to offload expensive star to sign 27-year-old in January

According to reports, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is looking to offer Luke Shaw to Tottenham in January in order to boost his chances of landing Danny Rose.

However, Shaw is said to keen on trying to prove to the United hierarchy that he can command a place within the first team before the window opens.

Since arriving at the Red Devils from Southampton in 2014, Shaw has struggled to establish himself within the first team and fitness has always been an issue.

The England international is set to enter the final year of his contract next summer and the club will have to make a decision on whether to sell him.

Mourinho is however said to be a big fan of Rose. The 27-year-old Rose recently indicated his frustrations at Spurs as he feels that they are failing to play their players enough money and went on to add that he would be open to joining a club that can offer him better trophy prospects.

Therefore, he may be open to joining Mourinho’s side and this could mean the end of Shaw at Old Trafford.
