There’s worrying news for Chelsea on Wednesday morning, as it’s been confirmed that the reigning Premier League champions may be slapped with a FIFA transfer ban.
The story has been broken by the Daily Mail, who have confirmed that Chelsea are being investigated by FIFA right now.

Have Chelsea breached FIFA’s rules when it comes to signings? That’s the allegations posted at the Blues door, amid suggestions the Pensioners have signed youngsters illegally.
The Daily Mail spell out the situation as follows:
FIFA have confirmed to Sportsmail that they have launched an inquiry into Chelsea’s conduct involving signing foreign players under the age 18.
The game’s world governing body is now conducting a thorough investigation into potential impropriety.
It’s unclear what deals are being specifically investigated by FIFA. However, this isn’t the first time Chelsea have been accused of falling afoul of these rules.
In 2009, Chelsea were hit with a year-long transfer embargo for breaching rules signing Gael Kakuta. Chelsea, however, successfully appealed that decision.
Chelsea has also been quizzed about signing Bertrand Traore when he was under 16.
Atletico & Real Madrid
In recent times, both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have be banned in the transfer market by FIFA.
Real Madrid were banned from doing business for one window, while Atletico have been banned from signing players for a year.
In both cases, much like the Chelsea situation, the Madrid clubs were punished for illegally buying minors.

Based on those precedents, the fear for Chelsea fans will be that the Blues will also be hit with a year-long transfer embargo.
Although, at this stage, with some many known unknowns, it’s hard to jump to any conclusions.
