We have been chasing Internazionale’s Ivan Perisic all summer with no success so it wouldn’t be unthinkable that we made a move for Sanchez instead before the window shuts at 11pm on Thursday.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have both started on the left wing for us this season and we also have Ashley Young as an option when fit. However, Sanchez is more than capable of playing on the right-hand side too, as he predominately did at Barcelona. This position is currently occupied by Juan Mata, with Jesse Lingard as the backup option. Sanchez would offer us a completely different option to Mata on that side and a significant improvement on Lingard.
Whilst Arsene Wenger has been insistent on keeping Sanchez until the end of the season when his contract runs out, it appears he is set to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to rivals Chelsea, instead of letting him go on a free transfer at the end of the season. Perhaps the same will happy to Sanchez?

Money should not be a problem for us but whether Arsenal would be willing to sell to us is another question. Manchester City remain a big rival in this deal, particularly as he’s worked with Guardiola before and that he’d almost be guaranteed regular first team football given that Raheem Sterling is good enough to start for them, currently.
