Chelsea close to sealing fifth summer signing in potential £22m deal - report

Chelsea are reportedly close to sealing their fifth signing of the summer with a deal for Antonio Candreva nearing.

The Blues have been linked with the 30-year-old in the last few weeks, who is reportedly keen to leave Inter after just one season in Milan.

According to Football Italia, Chelsea are close to sealing the deal with Inter and are prepared to offer £22m (€25m) for the Italy international.

Candreva made the move to Inter last summer and had a productive season in Serie A as the club finished seventh in the table.

In his 38 appearances 36 of them were starts and he provided ten assists to go along with his six league goals during the campaign.

After Inter's 2-1 win over Chelsea during pre-season, head coach Luciano Spalletti gave his opinion on the potential deal for Candreva. He said: "A lot things happened during this summer in the market and this is another thing. But this is not true.

"We intend to keep Candreva. Even if we sell him we will need to bring in another wide player."
