WOW: Another Striker set to Play for Manchester United Next Season

Manchester United could be set to give legendary striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic another crack at the Premier League despite the 35-year-old Swede currently being sidelined by a knee injury. United are in the USA for a pre-season tour and have just announced the signing of Romelu Lukaku in a stunning £75m deal from Everton. However, Jose Mourinho could be willing to re-sign Zlatan after he was released following the expiration of his contract back in June.

The Sun reports that Jose Mourinho is willing to offer him a shirt term deal until the end of the season as he is keen to utilize his dressing room influence and title winning know-how for next season.

His season ended when he picked up a knee injury in a Europa League match against Anderlecht, a competition in which the Manchester giants eventually won. He has been granted permission by the club to use the medical facilities but he has stunned the club’s medical staff, as he is expected to return way ahead of schedule in October, earlier than his previous return date of January 2018.

Prior to his injury in April, the charismatic Swede had registered an impressive 28 goals that put an end to all questions about whether he could cut the mustard in the Premier League.

Ibrahimovic is a veteran that has managed to maintain his high level of performances despite his advancing years. Since turning 30, he has scored over 250 goals, even more than what he managed before reaching that milestone. If re-signed, he could help Romelu Lukaku in the manner that Didier Drogba inspired Diego Costa in the 2014/15 season for Chelsea’s title win.
