Aurier was once heralded as one of the most exciting full-backs in Europe when he joined PSG from Toulouse in 2015 but his time at the Parc des Princes hasn’t gone according to plan.
The 24-year-old’s career in France has been plagued by a number of controversial incidents and it impacted on his form which has led to him failing to hold down a regular first team place.
The Ivory Coast international is now set for a move this summer as boss Unai Emery has confirmed Aurier has asked to leave the club following the arrival of Dani Alves from Juventus.
This news alerted Man Utd as the Independent reported earlier this month that Jose Mourinho had turned his attention to signing Aurier in a possible £25m deal after struggling to agree terms with Monaco for Fabinho.

United looked to be facing some stiff competition as the International Business Times then reported that Tottenham Hotspur had entered the chase to sign Aurier this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino is yet to make a single signing this window but the Spurs boss knows he needs to strengthen his options at right-back following the departure of Kyle Walker and Aurier appears to be on his radar.
However, it looks like Spurs have been dealt a blow as the Express are citing a report from Paris United that claims Aurier has now agreed terms with United ahead of a potential move to Old Trafford.
But the proposed deal is still hanging in the balance as the French outlet suggests that any move is dependent on the outcome of Aurier’s pending court trial after the defender was banned from entering the UK after being convicted of assaulting a police officer outside a Paris nightclub last September.
If Aurier’s appeal is successful and the Red Devils are given the go-ahead to complete the deal, then the full-back is set to become United’s fourth signing of the summer as Nemanja Matic is close to completing a move from Chelsea.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but I think Aurier would be an exciting addition to United’s squad as he has the potential to be a top class right-back and he could be Mourinho’s long-term successor to Antonio Valencia.
