Manchester United’s summer transfer window is now firmly in the hands of Edward Woodward. The executive vice chairman has been tasked with securing the signatures of new players, and last season he did a brilliant job in this area so I’d expect to see the same thing happen again this summer.

The latest whisper coming out of Portugal, namely media outlet A Bola, links Victor Lindelof, a Swedish centre-half, with a move to the Theatre of Dreams.

They’re claiming that the 22-year-old has been made a ‘top priority’ signing by Jose Mourinho, and it could allegedly cost the Red Devils somewhere around the €60million (£52m) which right now, Manchester United are unwilling to pay. mark which is obviously a hefty transfer fee.

Lindelof was a name that we were linked with making a move for back in January before the interest was cooled due to some brilliant performances from both Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo.

United will not have it all of their own way if they do decide to make an official bid for Lindelof, with some reports linking AS Roma with a move for the stern defender too. On top of that, SL Benfica will not want to lose too many of their key stars, with Manchester City seemingly closing in on a deal to sign goalkeeper Ederson.
