Roman Abramovich has made final decision regarding Antonio Conte’s future

Monday 6 November 2017

According to the Spanish media, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has decided he will sack Antonio Conte at the end of the campaign.

The Italian tactician led the west London giants to the Premier League title last term to cap a dream start to his career in England.

But they’ve struggled to maintain their momentum this campaign and followed up three league defeats with a 3-0 Champions League hammering at Roma on Tuesday.

Antonio Conte was rumoured to be on his way out of Chelsea during the summer but was tempted to stay with a new contract deal.

But the reports from Marca claim that the Chelsea squad have become disillusioned with life under the Italian manager and are unhappy with his intense training methods.

The former Juventus boss has barely spoken to Roman Abramovich in weeks, instead communicating with those in charge through director Marina Granovskaia.

Conte is aware that the club are considering his position for next season.

The Blues find themselves in fourth place in the Premier League but are a massive nine points behind leaders Manchester City after just 10 matches.

They’ve won their last two games and have recovered some form after two successive defeats to City and rock bottom Crystal Palace.
