Former Chelsea striker Bertrand Traore has not ruled out a return to Stamford Bridge in the future.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Traore says he needed to leave the club this summer, but hasn’t closed the door on Chelsea just yet.

Going from Chelsea was the best decision for me. I am enjoying myself, as a young players you can only improve if you are playing every week.
Why not, it is up to me to develop and progress as a player and prove that I am good enough to play in the Premier League. Others went back, it is a possibility. I have to focus on Lyon, do my best and see what I do in the future.
Traore left Chelsea in the summer after spending last season on loan at Ajax. In the previous campaign, Traore was heavily involved in Antonio Conte’s first pre-season tour but was later shipped out on loan unexpectedly.

Clearly unhappy about that decision, Traore took it upon himself to leave the club this summer as he went in search of regular first-team football.

Lyon paid nearly £9 million for the Burkina Faso international, who impressed during the French outfit during his spell at Ajax.

Since joining the French side in the summer, Traore has been ever present, featuring 13 times in all competitions for a youthful Lyon side.

Chelsea did insert a buy-back clause into the deal that saw Traore join Lyon, meaning the Blues may well be keeping tabs on the player in the near future.
