Hopes at Manchester United that Antoine Griezmann could soon be moving to Old Trafford have been dealt a severe blow by the striker.
The France international was close to joining the Red Devils in the summer before he opted to stay at Atletico Madrid due to their transfer embargo which restricted them from signing a replacement.

That ban expires in January and today’s announcement that Diego Costa will join the La Liga side when the next transfer window opens led to speculation Griezmann could leave Atletico and finally join Manchester United.
But that doesn’t seem to be on the mind of the tricky forward. Following news of the Costa deal, which was confirmed today by Chelsea, Griezmann expressed his delight on Twitter.
‘Is coming hooome, Is coming hooome,’ he tweeted about Costa returning to the Spanish capital for a second stint at the club.

It would seem Griezmann is excited at the prospect of playing with Costa rather than eyeing the Spain international’s arrival as an opportunity to make a hasty exit.
The striker, who has just one goal to his name this season, has a release clause that reports in Spain claim will be £92million when the transfer window next opens.
