24 year old ‘Want’ to sign for Manchester United before the window shuts

Wednesday, 9 August 2017

After their rather packed, and historic in a club sense, Neymar Week, PSG now need to do the less exciting business of the market. Sales are required to balance the books after signing Neymar from Barcelona, and several players had already been pinpointed ahead of the Brazilian being purchased.

L’Equipe roll out the often used names of Serge Aurier, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Blaise Matuidi, and say PSG are looking to raise €50-60m before the end of the transfer window.

Aurier still ‘hopes’ to sign for Manchester United before the window closes, believe the French newspaper, but there’s no advance on that file. L’Equipe occasionally drop Manchester United into the story, but without any concrete indication a deal is closing in.

Aurier’s work permit situation has been a worry for interested clubs, and the 24 year old was prevented from entering the UK in November to face Arsenal whilst playing for PSG.

Manchester United can’t sign Aurier without a work permit, and this week could see a
development in that situation.

Jose Mourinho may be interested to know that today sees Aurier’s appeal against a two month prison sentence handed out to him in September after an altercation with police.

In France the appeal is seen as a completely fresh trial and Aurier remains presumed innocent, although the English authorities didn’t see it the same way in November.

With just over three weeks left of the transfer window, PSG don’t have a huge amount of time to manage their sales, which could help Manchester United when it comes to negotiating a price. script
