Official: PSG boss confirms Man United target is leaving, replacement already signed

Paris St Germain manager Unai Emery has confirmed Serge Aurier wants to leave the club this summer.

Manchester United have been linked with Aurier and with PSG already signing Dani Alves as Aurier’s replacement, the 24-year-old is all set to leave the French side despite Emery’s best attempts to convince him to stay.

“I’ve spoken with Serge to tell him I wanted him to stay here and continue with us,” Emery explained.

“He told me that he wanted to leave and that he wanted to stay in Paris to prepare for going.

“So, we signed Dani Alves, a very experienced player who has the spirit of a champion.”

Mourinho was reportedly interested in bringing in a full-back to strengthen his options and right-back Aurier fits the bill in that respect but if we are indeed only going to complete one more signing this summer due to it being such a difficult market, that can’t be Aurier.

Defensive midfield is our priority and I am not convinced we actually need a right-back with Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Axel Tuanzebe and Matteo Darmian as backup to Valencia. Feels to me like we’ve already got enough cover there but maybe United will follow up with their interest in Aurier seeing as he’s so readily available.
