But according to French radio station RMC, Chelsea have managed to fend off their rivals and wrap up a deal for Bakayoko, who will move to west London in a deal worth a massive £40m.

The deal comes as a massive relief to Antonio Conte, who has been growing increasingly frustrated with Chelsea’s inability to wrap up deals for his targets this summer.
The Italian boss is thought to want five new additions before the start of the new Premier League season, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alvaro Morata, Alex Sandro, Danilo and, of course, Bakayoko.
The France international represents the first of those world-class targets, though Chelsea fans – and Conte – may have to wait a while to see their latest acquisition in action.
Bakayoko has been carrying a knock over the summer and will not be fully fit until September, meaning he will miss around three matches at the start of the campaign, against Burnley, Tottenham and Everton.
However, the former Rennes midfielder’s injury struggles are not expected to impact his ability to pass the medical, and Chelsea are laying the groundwork for him to be officially unveiled on Friday.
Bakayoko will sign a five-year deal with the Blues and becomes their third signing of the summer after Willy Caballero, a free transfer, and Antonio Rudiger, who joined from Roma last week.
