Dortmund are not keen on losing their striker this summer, but the latest reports have suggested that Chelsea could soon make a big-money move for him.
In fact, it was Lukaku’s move to United which has led to the series of events culminating in Dortmund’s interest in Giroud.

The Belgian striker was a top-summer target for his former club Chelsea, but his decision to join United instead has forced the Blues to look elsewhere for a top striking talent in the market. The West London club have now shifted their focus towards Aubameyang, and the reports suggest that a €70m bid might be in the pipeline.
Meanwhile, Giroud faces an uncertain future at Arsenal following the arrival of his compatriot Alexandre Lacazette this month. The 30-year-old could manage only 11 league starts last season, and he is expected to fall further down the pecking order at North London side next season.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has repeatedly stated his desire to keep hold of Giroud, but the French striker might look for a move elsewhere in search of regular playing opportunities.
He recently admitted uncertainty regarding his future at the club in an interview: ‘Honestly, I don’t know at the moment, but I’m still an Arsenal player so I try to be professional like I always have done and prepare well for next season.”
