25-year-old set for medical ahead of completing Chelsea move

Chelsea defender Michael Hector is close to joining Hull City on a season long loan as the 25-year-old is set for the 14th loan of his career, according to a report from Sky Sports.

The centre-back joined Chelsea from Reading in 2015 but is yet to make an appearance for the Premier League champions.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan in Germany at Eintracht Frankfurt where he was impressive and has attracted interest from various clubs.

The Jamaican defender made 25 appearances for the German club and was a reliable option in defence.

New Hull manager Leonid Slutsky has used his connections at Stamford Bridge to fight off competition in Jamaica international Hector as he looks set to complete a medical with the Championship club.

Hull have already signed Chelsea player Ola Aina on a season long loan and are hoping to add Hector shortly.

Hector has been told by manager Antonio Conte that he can make the loan move and since the arrival of the Italian at Stamford Bridge, the defender has been training regularly with the first team squad.

He has failed to impress Conte enough to convince him of giving him a chance in the first team and a move to Hull seems best for Hector at the moment.
