CHELSEA ARE REPORTEDLY ‘CLOSE’ TO SECURING A DEAL FOR TALENTED FORWARD, FANS WILL BE DELIGHTED

Though the game ended in defeat for the Blues, Antonio Conte’s men can certainly be proud of what they have accomplished over the course of the season, none more so than Diego Costa.

The Spaniard has been one of Chelsea’s most important players, and though many fans forget it, his early season goals were often the only thing keeping Chelsea within the early race for the Premier League title.


It has come as good news for the Blues, then, that Di Marzio correspondent David Amoyal is reporting that Chelsea are closing in on a new contract for the Spaniard, with Antonio Conte seemingly hopeful of retaining him this summer.

The Chelsea fans in the pub had expected Costa to leave the club this summer, and reports from the Times earlier this week indicated that Antonio Conte was expecting the same thing, but it appears as though there has been a breakthrough in the Blues’ talks with the player.

Whilst a new deal wouldn’t necessarily stop him from being sold, it does seem to hint that both the player and the club see a future for him at Stamford Bridge, leaving the fans in the pub feeling very optimistic.
