11 questions Senate asked Magu during his screening before he was rejectedIn December, the Senate rejected Magu’s nomination based on a DSS report which accused him of corruption ‎and “gross violation of human rights”.He was renominated by President Muhammadu Buhari and appeared before the Senate again today, March 15, but he was once again rejected.

Magu fielded questions from the lawmakers and after answering them, he was rejected as senators voted against his confirmation.

Here are some of the questions he was asked by the senators.

1. What are the special powers of the EFCC under section 6 of the EFCC act? Senate president Bukola Saraki asked.

2. How will the EFCC under Magu fight corruption within the law? Deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu asked.

3. He also asked about the operations of the EFCC on disobeying court orders and cases of human rights abuse.

4. What is the concept of financial crime as stipulated in the EFCC act? Senator, Isah Misau, who represents Bauchi Central district asked.

5. Is it body language of the Nigerian president that EFCC uses to fight corruption since people close to the president are not probed? He asked again.

6. He also asked why the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria who released money to Dasuki is not being investigated by the EFCC.

7. Dasuki took money illegally and not a single person from the CBN has been investigated or prosecuted so far. Senator Misau queried.

8. How much funds has been recovered since you took charge of the commission? Senator Duro Faseyi representing Ekiti North Senatorial district asked.

9. You need to expatiate on your activities on human rights, what are your findings and activities on the Paris Club fund? Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna central asked.

10. Sen. Atai Aidoko asks about the operational procedure in detaining suspects on investigation

11. Can you say that anybody you're prosecuting will take you serious, why prosecute people on the Newspaper before it gets to court? Senator Biodun Olujimi who represents Ekiti south senatorial district asked.

Magu's rejection for the second time has been greeted with mixed reactions. Some Nigerians are of the opinion that the lawmakers are against Magu's confirmation because they are corrupt.

Some others are asking President Buhari to nominate another individual for the position of EFCC's chairman.
