- Eden Hazard is set to become the highest paid player in the English Premier League
- Chelsea management has proposed to increase the player's wages to £300,000-a-week
- If it pulls through, the 26-year-old will earn much more than United's Paul Pogba
Chelsea striker Eden Hazard is set to become the highest earning player in the Premier League following a move by Chelsea to re-open talks with him on a new contract worth £300k-a-week. PredonBc.com understands that the decision comes despite the £200k a week pay raise in 2015, and following reports that Real Madrid have shown interest in Hazard.
Hazard's contract with Chelsea is set to end in 2020, and while Real Madrid seems to be in a good position financially, reports have it they might not be willing to pay £100 million for the player.
This new proposition by Chelsea would see Eden Hazard earn more than Pogba who currently bags £290,000-a-week at Manchester United. According to Sunsport (UK), the negotiations on the new raise could happen at the end of this season. John Terry used to be one the highest paid players at the club, but agreed a pay cut at the end of last season to stay with the Stamford Bridge side for one more year.
