Amid rumour of President Muhammadu Buhari’s death, an Islamic cleric, Sheik Sule Atitogo has called on Nigerians to pray for the president.
Since his vacation to the UK, there has been rumout that the president was ill although this has been refuted by the presidency.
Vanguard reports that the chief imam of Unguwar Gwari Central Mosque spoke on Friday, January 27 during the Jumat service where he urged Nigerians to develop the habit of praying for their leaders.
He said: “Nigerians should develop the habit of praying for their leaders for God’s guidance in ensuring good democratic government.
“Nigerians should ignore comments by rumour mill and pray for the president.
“God has a reason for creating us with different tribes, background, ethnic and religious differences.
“We must be seen to be tolerant with one another for peace, progress and political stability of our country.”
He urged Nigerians to continue to support security operatives by providing information that can lead to arrest of criminals.
