Many people have suffered a huge misfortune as a vehicle transporting a dead body burst into flames.
A family that was already mourning the death of a member, has been hit by another misfortune.
The extended family was transporting the dead body of their relative for burial when the public transport vehicle they were travelling in rolled several times and burst into flames on the Kisumu-Muhoroni road, Kenya on Friday, August 26.
According to Daily Nation, the family had been transporting the corpse to Ugenya for burial from Nakuru county.
It was revealed that the bus was trying to avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle, forcing it veer off the road.
“The vehicle rolled times with the casket but it was left intact despite the fire and rolling. One of them was burnt beyond recognition. Eleven of mourners sustained serious burns in the explosion,” said Andrew Naibei, the Nyanza Regional Traffic Commader.
What shocked everyone beond words was that despite the huge tragedy, the casket being ferried on top of the vehicle remained intact during the incident. There was no scratch on it, not even a smoke dent.
The 11 survivors were transferred to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital in Kisumu county.
