Manchester United Players In High Spirits Ahead Of Community Shield Against Leicester.

Sunday, 7 August 2016

Jose Mourinho has charged the Manchester United players to be on their toes ahead of Sunday afternoon's Community Shield against Premier League champions Leicester City. Mourinho has a fit 25-man squad to choose from on the eve of his first competitive game in charge.

New United manager Jose Mourinho says the trophy will "have meaning" for those of his players who were part of the FA Cup-winning side last season.

"We're ambitious but know it will be very hard," added Foxes boss Ranieri.

"I forgot what happened last season. Now my focus is on the new season."

Leicester have won the traditional season-opener just once, beating Liverpool in 1971, when they were invited to take part as second-tier champions after double winners Arsenal pulled out.

Ranieri says he has a full strength squad to choose from, with forward Jamie Vardy back in training after featuring for England at Euro 2016.
