As we noted last week, a new title has been commissioned for the debuting Cruiserweight Division on WWE Raw, and it will debut along with the division.
According to PWInsider.com, the new division is expected to debut on Raw sometime in September, and WWE is in the process of reaching out to talents and getting them signed for the new division. WWE is reportedly offering talents various types of deals, and they range from full-fledged deals, to NXT/developmental deals, to per appearance deals. As of now, WWE CWC competitor Kota Ibushi is working with WWE on a per appearance basis, and he will likely be with WWE for SummerSlam weekend. While not confirmed, that could mean Ibushi will be working the WWE NXT Takeover Back to Brooklyn special.
In addition to Ibushi, based on this week’s edition of the WWE CWC, it appears likely WWE has made an offer to Cedric Alexander.
