The National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Makurdi has struck out a petition filed before it by Daniel Onjeh, the All Progressives Congress candidate in the February 20 rerun in Benue South senatorial district against the winner of the election, former Senate President, David Mark.
Onjeh had approached the court, praying it to declare him winner of the election.
The judge, while delivering his judgment on preliminary objection ruled that the petitioner, Onjeh filed his petition out of time and accordingly, it was thrown out with ignominy.
Meanwhile, Onjeh has threatened to file an appeal. He disclosed this through his lawyer.
