2 Teenage Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested With Gun By Security Operatives In Lagos. Photo

The operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) recently arrested 2 robbery suspects and recovered one iron-made pistol from them. The suspects were five in number. On sighting the presence of the RRS operatives, they took to their heels, immediately, the police chased them. While they were trying to escape, one of them dropped an iron-made pistol, hoping that the police will stay back, but the police continued to chase them. Three of them managed to escape while the other two were nabbed, Ibrahim Sola, 15, and Ogunlana Sulaman, 20.

Further police investigation revealed that the two suspects were members of an armed robbery gang within that axis. Police is still trailing the whereabouts of other three who on the run.

One of the suspects, fifteen -year-old Ibrahim Sola, who hails from Ikirun, Osun State, said he came to Lagos in 2014 with his biological mother. He said was an electrician and at the time he was arrested, he was sleeping under a storey building.

The two suspects who live in the same house, at 15, Kadara street , Oyingbo, denied any knowledge of the fake pistol found on them. Ibrahim said: “I don't have money to secure a room apartment. This is the reason I was squatting with him (second suspect). I don't know anything about the crime the Police said we committed. I was sleeping outside the building when they woke me up." The second suspect, 20 -year-old Ogunlana Sulaiman, also said he knew nothing about the iron-made pistol in their possession.
