As per Daily Mail, the west London club are set to make a transfer move to secure the signature of the 24-year-old safe hand from Stoke City, as the Belgian continues to stall on penning a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

The same publication claim Chelsea are well aware that the Belgium international is attracting a number of interest from top sides like Real Madrid, and with his current Chelsea contract set to run out in 2019, the Blues need to protect themselves just in case the goalkeeper leaves.

The former Atletico Madrid safe hand has developed a reputation as England finest goalkeepers at Chelsea and fans will have to hold on and see whether the Belgian will sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

The same report states that Antonio Conte’s side wanted Butland when he was still plying his trade at Birmingham City in 2013 but he turned down their advances.

However, latest reports claims that should Belgian Courtois indeed leave the West London club, it would mean that Butland would likely replace the number one role at the club.
