Chelsea Linked With This England Star: Can Anyone Stop The Blues If Conte Pulls This Off?

Monday, 22 May 2017

Alexis Sanchez has undoubtedly been the best player up front for Arsenal all through the current season. He has notched up 29 goals in all competitions for his club so far and has been spearheading their attack along with the German playmaker Mesut Ozil.

However, with Arsenal not making the UEFA Champions’ League group stages next season, the ex-Barcelona marksman might be on the move to join another club in the top four of the Premier League. As per reports, the frontrunner to bag the Chilean forward for the next season is this season’s champions, Chelsea.

The West London club might be short of firepower in their next season, with the possibility looking strong of their current striker Diego Costa to move to China in a huge deal. Their Italian coach Antonio Conte is reportedly looking to bring in the Arsenal striker to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for the brilliant Spaniard, in case he leaves for the Far East in the summer.

Sanchez has been the best player by far in the Arsenal squad since his arrival from Barcelona in 2014. A sharp shooter and a clinical finisher, the Chilean has been making his mark on the North London club permanent with his brilliant display of prowess over the last few seasons. It goes without saying that it will be very difficult for Arsenal to find a suitable replacement in case Sanchez leaves the Emirates Stadium in the summer.

Reportedly, the Chilean superstar is serving his penultimate year of contract with the North London club and has denied to pen down a new one in the current season. The cause of such a standoff has been suspected to be the demand for a better salary structure by Sanchez in his next contract with the Gunners.

Chelsea, on the other hand, has been looking to fulfil the demands of the Arsenal striker and are desperate to bag him during the next transfer window. As the Gunners have not made it to the top four in the next season, it will be really difficult for them to make their prized possession stay back with them. Chelsea, from that perspective, being the current champions of the Premier League, are sure to play in the Champions League next term.

The addition of someone like Sanchez to the existing Chelsea team does seem like a frightening proposition for the rest of the Premier League and Arsenal have to try their best not to let such a situation arise.
